It goes without saying that any piece of furniture, modern or antique, that is in regular use cannot escape the wear and tear of daily life. When the need arises Hawthornes can provide the expertise to restore your furniture to its former glory.

In our central Birmingham workshop we are able to offer clients a full range of restoration services including French Polishing, veneering, colour matching and cabinet making. Modern furniture also receives our close attention to detail but restoration is accomplished by using the more appropriate techniques of today such as spray lacquering. Staining, chair re-caning, re-upholstery and even colour lacquering with British Standard colours are all services we offer.

Upon commencement of a project we will collect the item from your property and transport it back to the workshop. When an item of furniture arrives it will be assigned to one of our two sections; Antique Furniture area or Modern Pieces and work will start. Upon completion we will contact you and make arrangements to return your restored item back to you at a convienient time.

 

Onsite Restoration Work

As well as completing projects in our central Birmingham workshop Hawthornes French Polishing are also able to offer restoration insitu when required. Even though working onsite Hawthornes are still able to offer the same level of service that we extend to our workshop projects.

Staircases, panelling, window frames, doors and any large or difficult to move objects can all be completed onsite. This can range from remedial work through to total restoration.
